• 5.0 out of 5 stars from Christina Gagliardo -- Fantastic : This is an amazing book for any young adult, but I’d venture to say most adults would enjoy too. The character development is awesome, the details really tell the story and you feel like you are stranded in the Edison tower with these two teens. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from John Rogers Clark IV -- Inside VS outside, the pain is the same : Tegan and Mac attend high school together, but barely know each other. She's the girl with the odd hand, having been born with only two digits on it. Mac is the golden boy, breezing through the hallways with a smile on his face. What neither knows is how alike they are inside. When Tegan is confronted by her mother about the messages she sends to her father, she breaks, running into a snowstorm without her coat. She's hiding in the Thomas Edison Museum, a place close to her heart because her father helped save it from going under, when Mac stumbles in with a bloody hand and demands she make a 911 call. This is the start of an alternately electric and painful journey for both of them. It involves hiding from Charlie, her mom's musician boyfriend, sneaking into Mac's house after he loans his jacket to her, so he can retrieve another before they return to the museum. Then, there's kissing, Tegan's confession that threatens to undo everything. Get the book and find out what happened. You won't be disappointed. This is a great book about emotional pain, hidden truths, and coming to grips with them. It deserves a place in most libraries. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2021 )
• 4.0 out of 5 stars from thorn -- Worth a read : I really, really hope that the information in the book about Thomas Edison was true because it was fun reading about it and I was excited to learn more. The "not so fun" thing with this book for me was that I didn't like the female protagonist much at all. The male protagonist was okay, but didn't really win my heart over completely either. I could never figure out why the female was having such a crisis, nor why she felt justified in allowing her family to suffer with worry. I could understand the stress the male was under, but was slightly confused at how he coped with the stress/crisis. It would seem that he would have shown a bit more panic or fear for what might be going on at home while he was gone, considering the earlier events of the evening. • 4.0 out of 5 stars from the beached quill -- Troubled teens in a not quite meet cute........ : While there's nothing new in the story here - two troubled teens forming a most unlikely connection in the oddest of circumstances - it's so skillful, tender and accomplished in its telling that I couldn't help falling for it.
